ARTS AND CRAFTS SOHOOL

A most, successful Arts and School was hold on Thursday in tlu> Parish Hall by the Eastern Bay of Plenty Federation of Women’s Institutes. Various kinds of hand work were ably demonstrated) by Airs. Stewart, of Whakataue, and Airs. Eo L-ievro, Kidgecumbc. who was accompanied bv Airs. Woolfiekl, president of the Federation, Airs. Withy, Airs. Morris, and Miss .Le Lievre. interested visitors came and went all day. Some beautiful articles were displayed in topper, brass, and pewter; also paper work on wood, both coloured and plain. Several shopping bags in lelt were shown. Material foi crafts was available and several enthusiastic- pupils started and finished articles in pewter, copper and paper work. A vote of thanks was cairied to the ladies -who had so kind I \ demonstrated the various crafts.
