SMITH—FLEMING! PBFTIY W AIM AN A FUNCTION. (News Correspondent) A very 'pretty wedding was solemnised in the M'aimana Church lastweek, when Moira Joyce, younger daughter of Mr. and -Mrs. B. Fleming, Waimana, was married to Bobert Alexander, only son of Mr. and Airs. A. Smith of Flawera. 'The Rev. Stewart, of Tanoatua, ctliciated at the ceremony, and Mrs. J -McConnell presided at the organ. Pink aiicil white camellias and ferns were,' artistically arranged in the .-church for decorations, and also <\ white wedding bell. _ 'The bride, who was escorted i»y her father, looked charming in a beautiful frock of ivory sheer crepe and lace, cut on slimming lines. The long sleeves were puffed on the shoulders, and fitted closely to taper to points over the wrists. Medallions ot lace were inset on the bodice, and lace inset on the back of the frock, lorniedi a beautiful flowing train. A magnificently hand-umbroidered tulle veil was held in pjnee with a bandeau ot orange blossom. The veil was over the bride’s face as she entered the church. Jlil how-length gloves, and ivory satin shoes were worn, and a beautiful sheaf of lilies, jonquils and fern complete the ensemble. 'I be bride was attended by her sister’ Mrs. Percy .Looney, as matron of honour.. She wore a satin embossed sheer, the bodice being shirred to the waistline, and the skirt was full with a row of shirring near the hemline. A matching short, tulle veil lei! to- the shoulders, and elbow length gloves, and gold shoes were worn. A sweet posy of carnations and Icrn completed the toilette. The bridesmaid was Miss Maiy Smith of Mawera. sister of the bridegroom, who wore a dainty Irock ■of pal,e groom embossed sheer, and made on the same lines as the matron of honour’s with a matching tulle veil amt elbow length gloves. Gold shoes ami-a dainty posy of anemones, carnations and fern completed the outfit. The tittle ilower girl, Margaret Fleming, cousin of the bride, was attired in a pretty pale blue truck, tlie bodice being shirred and the skirt frilled to the hem. A dainty bandeau of matching flowers was worn in her hair. 'The bridegroom was attended by Mr. W. Burgess, of Wanganui, as best man, and by -Mr. A. Bat la, tit Hawera. as groomsman. A reception was hold ill the Mai-, maim Hall, where some 300 guosis were entertained. The guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Fleming, the later wearing a model frock ot navy blue weol erepe-de-chme, relieved with gold trimmings with a hat to match. She carried a posy til daphne and violets.
Airs. Smith, mother of the bridegroom. wore a smart frure crepe de chine frock, with hat and accessories to tone and carried a posy of violets and salvia.
'l'he stage and tables were heantiful|v decorated with howls and \ases of pink and white camellias, and the three-tiered white wedding cake took pride of place. ’I he host man read a large, number ot telegrams, all conveying good wishes to the happy couple.
