THEFT OF BICYCLES

Before Air. E. L. Walton, S.AL, in the Children’s Court in Opotiki on Tuesday, a youth, aged Id was charged with the theft of six bicycles and also with the theft of cycle accessories. Alter hearing the evidence, Air. Walton placed the defendant under the supervision of the child welfare officer,, deferring sentence for three months. A penalty, contingent cm the behaviour of the accused, will he fixed at the expiration of this period. Another juvenile offender was charged with breaking and l entering and theft a lid was placed under the supervision of the Child Welfare Department for one year. An order lor restitution of the money invclved was made.
