OPOTIKI PIG SALE The New Zealand Loan and 31 ereantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as. follows, on the pig sale held in the Opo.tiki saleyards : We had a small entry of pigs in all classes! Export buyers were not operating and the whole of our bacon and pork offering was taken by the Opotiki Bacon Co. Young pigs were dull of sale owing to 1 scarcity of milk and wo" anticipate a substantial rise in -.values at our next, sale on 3fonday, 9th. July. Prices realised were:—

Overweight baconers, £3 9s to £3 17s; heavy baconers, £3 4s to £3 7s; light bacomers, £2- 15s to £3'3s; heavy porkers, £2 to £2 ss; light porkers, 32s to 38s; good store pigs, 25s to 295; smaller stores, 17s to 21s; slips, 15s to IBs; weaners, 7s 9d to. 12s (id ; choppers, £1 12s to £3 Bs. Afessrs. Daigety and Company. Ltd. report having held their monthly pig sale at the Opotiki saleyards on .Monday, when an average yarding of pigs of all classes came forward and sold readily at late rates. Baconers were keenly sought alter and the Opotiki Bacon Company secured most lines at sums varying from £3 to £3' 10s. Mr. S l . 31. Jephson yarded two pedigree Berkshire sows which were passed in at four and a half guineas. We give below prices obtained at the sale Baconers : prime heavyweight, to £3 10s; medium, £3 to £3 Gs; light, £2 los to £'3. Porkers: heavy and prime, £2 ss; medium quality, 35s to £2; light, 30s to 345. Store pigs were not in as good demand as was expected, but many lines sold at up to 30s for well-gnnyn pigs. Slips: to 18s Gd. Weaners: gold quality, IDs Gd; inferior. Is to Gs.
