GARAGE BURGLED
SMART ARREST MADE SUM OF MONEY TAKEN A smart arrest .was effected by the Opotiki police at about 2.15 this morning as a result of the premises of ‘Messrs. M. O. Kiddl Ltd., being entered earlier in the morning. Access was gained through the front door which had been forced by an old tyre lever which was left in the back yard of the garage. Mr. Kidd was passing the garage shortly after midnight when he noticed a man standing in' the shadows in a suspicions manner. -Mr. Kidd immediately swung the lights of the car on to the man and questioned him. The man made evasive replies, but Mb. Kidd succeeded in establishing his identity and notified the police. At) 2.15 a.m. the police visited the home of the- "suspected man and made an arrest. v The? garage was also broken into about a week ago and the sum of £2 l3s 9dl stolen.
