THEFTS BY YOUTHS YAIMKLT OF ARTICLES Before M'r. E. h. Walton. S.M.in the Opotiki Children’s Court, a youth was charged with the theft of a wristlet watch, valued! at £4 55.. and sums of money totalling £3 10s. The defendant was convicted and placed under the supervision of the Child "Welfare Department for 12 montlis. He was ordered to: make restitution of the money involved. Four other youths were charged with the theft of a bottle-' of beer and a violin valued at £lO. All pleaded guilty. Two of the defendants were placed under the supervision of the Child Welfare Department for 12: months, one lad already in the charge of the department was admonished and discharged, while the information against the. fourth was dismissed.
