TRANSPORT OF TEAM
INSPECTOR, STUBS' CAR l An action by a*: traffic inspector, which raises a question of considelable interest' tofsports bodies throughout the Dominion was * the unusual cause, of a team from the Milton. Women’s Hockey Club, defaulting its match against a Lawrence' eleven on Saturday. The team was being driven to Lawrence in two private cars and the iiisc an inspector arrived in Milton. He was evidently informed of the manner, in which the-,team was travelling, to Lawrence, for he went straight over to the driver of the second car and refused -to allow, him to proceed on his 'journey. The driver was a clergyman and,-a.s he has.received nothing toward travelling 1 expenses, lie was at a loss to see.why,'he should not take his passengers to their destination. . u •_ It is understood that the traffic inspector later followed the other c..r and informed the occupants that lie had refused their team mates permission to travel by private car. Officials of the club are indignant that the inspector could interfere in the matter, and they question his authority to ch - tate to a- private car owner whom liemay take as passengers in his ear.
