OPOTIKI PIG SALE GOOD PRICES REALISED Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their pig sale at the Opotiki -saleyards cn Monday, when an average yarding of all classes of pigs came forward, but considering, that sales arc held monthly just now and"not fortnightly, the yarding wasrather disappointing, .Baconers were scarce and a. decided advance on late rates wasi noticed throughout the sale. We quote the following prices: Baconers, heavy, to £3 l’3s, which sum wasf realised by pigs from Air. H. O. Eason; others £3 11s for a line from Air. J. AI. Scott, whilst Air. Don Parkinson also obtained £3 11s for a prime heavyweight baconer. Medium baconers made to £3 Bs, whilst lighter baconers made £2 14s to £3 Is; porkers sold well at late rates, £2 5s being the average price for good heavyweight porkers; lighter porkers made from £1 15s to £2 2s; store pigs sold! well, many lines making to 28s. whilst others made from 23s to 265; slips to £1 and| weaners 10s 01 t.oi 16s. Ltd. report as iollows : We had a full yarding of pigs at our sale held yesterday, entry consisting of baconers, porkers and stores. Very few slips or weaners* were yarded. The usual export buyers were present and we report no change m late rates. Prices realised were:— Heavy baconers. £3 Gs- to £3 2s; medium baconers, £3> to £3 ss; light baconers, £2 5s to £2 19s; heavy porkers, £2 3s- to £2 Ills; lighter sorts, 34s toi £2 Is; large stores, 29s toi 375; others, 21s to 225. others, 21s to 22.5; slips, 12s id to 15s 3d; choppers, 35s to £2.
