WEDDING

SCOTT—JESSOP The wedding took place on Saturday evening in St. John’s Presbyterian Church. Opotiki, of Annie Mavis Jessup, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs.. R. Jessop of Tablelands, to Malcolm George Scott, elder son of Air. and Airs. G. Scott, of Opotiki. The ceremony was performed by Bov. A. C. Hampton. The bride, who was. given away by her fattier, wore a charming frock -of white sharks skyn made with tight fitting bodice finished with tiny satin hows down the front. The veil was worn off face, with a coronet of orange blossoms and pearly leaves. The bride carried a shower bonqupt of white begonias, rouses., pink and white carnations and asparagus fern. Aliss Ava Scott, sister’of the bridegroom, acted as bridesmaid. She wore blue embossed satin and carried a. bouquet of pink begonias, and carnations with maiden hair fern. On her head she wore a halo of pale blue tulle. 'Hie bridegroom was’ attended by Air. F. Fisher as best man. The ushers were Mr. R. G. Parkinson and Air. A. Fleming. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Lyric HalJ. Owing to the absence through illness of the bride’s mother the guests were received by Airs. Scott, the bridegroom’s mother, and Aliss Jean Jessop, sister of the bride. Airs. Scott wore a brown costume with bat and accessories to tone. Aliss Je.ssop wore a. blue shot taffetta frock with blue accessories. Both carried autumn coloured! posies. The bride chose as her travel-' ling outfit a green costume with hat, to match, and brown accessories.

After t-lio reception the hall was cleared and a number of young friend's' spent a pleasant few hours in danc-; iug. The bouquets were made and! presented by -Mrs. "W. M.nddren. who! also presided at .the piano. |
