Shipping. The m.s. Waiotalii is expected to arrive at the' Opotiki wharf at about; 1 o’clock to-morrow afternoon. .*,i Matawai News. The Matawai Dental Clinic Committee . lias obtained .sufficient funds for the building of dental clinic rooms. The committee also lias been granted a. subsidy, and the building will be started immediately. ' Collision at Torere. A collision occurred during the holidays between a service-car driven by Francis Rahgi Coughlaii, and l a motor truck driven by Jerome dEdward Knapp. The service car was travelling down the hill otn the Opotiki side of Torere and met a truck being driven up the hill, on a corner. The two vehicles collided with considerable force and were badly damaged, but no one was injured. Easter Holiday Traffic. Motor traffic during the Faster holidays was very heavy, and there was a constant stream of cars passing through the Waioeka gorge. A number of minor collisions occurred in the gorge but only bent mudguards and other trivial damage resulted. The dust nuisance caused a great deal of trouble in the Bay of Plenty but in the Poverty Hay district occasional showers helped to keep the dust down. Although the Raukookre bridge on the coastal highway is not yet officially open, traffic was able to use it throughout the holiday period. Pictures of New Zealand. A comprehensive tour of New Zealand by Mi'. Ivan Ive, photographer for an Australian pictorial, began last week in Wanganui when lie and his companion, Mr. Douglas Carpenter, Auckland, made a tliree-day trip up the Wanganui River. The tour of New Zealand is planned to take about 94 days,,.opt already they are behind in their itinerary and the trip through the Dominion probably will take at least as half as long again as expectedl. The travelling involved will include 10,000 mics of road, 2000 by air and 300 miles by waterways. Mr. Ive is prepared to take 3000 or more pictures.

Unusual Accident. An accident with unusual features took place on the Waiotaln beach road! on Monday night. Mi - . H. J. Collins was driving his car to AYaiotahi and came into collision with a car driven hr M'r. AY. F. Dunn, of Taneatua. Alr. Collins’ car car hit the rear of the approaching car and then travelled across the road, where it collided heavily with another car, driven by. Mr. It. J. Dixon, and which had been stopped on the roadside just before the other cars collided. Mr. Dixon’s car was badly damaged and a passenger, Mr. P. Cl. Woods, of 'Gisborne, had his right leg cut. Had it not been for Air. .Dixon’s car being drawn up on the roadside, Mr. Collins’ car would undoubtedly have gone ewer the. hank and fallen to the sea-beach below.
