DAMAGES FOR PLAYER LONDON, Feb'. 10—Speaking for the Cliftonville (near Belfast) Golf Club, in an appeal, against £I3OO damages awarded to a golfer who was injured by a, golf ball, Mr; Arthur Black. K. 0., said in Ulster Appeal Court - -yesterday:— “If the verdict of the jury stands, it means that dozens of first-class clubs throughout tlie United King--1 doiix, from St. Andrews down, are guilty of actionable negligence every -day of the week and every day of the year.” The ball which injured the golfer had been driven from another tee, and the jury had held that the golf \\ club had been negligent in-not providin'l- against such accidents.
