W.D.F.U. GARDEN PARTY

A very enjoyable garden party was held by the Gardening Circle of the W.D.F.U. at the residence of Mrs. G. Shalloon, there being a large attendance of members and- friends. The “sales table” did good business, showing a good balance at the close of the day. The winner of the dinner was Mrs. Delaney. Two other competitions were avoii by Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. McGregor. At the end of the day the proceeds Avere handed over to the W.D.I'.U. Hie garden aajis much admired by those present and a hearty vote of thanks to the hostess, Mrs. Shalfoon, for the use.of her home and grounds, brought a most enjoyable afternoon to a close. The previous meeting ol the Gardening Circle was held at the home of Mrs. Webb, when there Avas a good attendance. The flower , com petition resulted: Mrs. Neil 1, Mrs. Martin 2, Mrs. Da-in 3. Albs. Martin Avas also successful in securing flrst prize for the letter competition. During the day a dainty afternoon tea Avas served. A vote of thanks was extended to the hostess, Mrs. Webb, and this concluded. a A'ery enjoyable afternoon.
