HUCHES—SPANHAKE (News "Correspondent.) "N The Waimana Chui'oli was the scene of a very, pretty wedding last Thursday afternoon,-"March 16, when Georgina Sylvia, seventh daughter of Bir. ancli Blrs. R. Spanhake, Nukuhou North, was married to Bernard lgnatz, only son of Biir. ‘and Mrs. Jack Hughes, Opotiki, and late of South Africa. The Rev:.Stewart, of Taneatua, officiated. aiuT the' wedding music- was •played by BJiss J. McConnell. The church had been prettily decorafeck by girl friends of the bride in of pink. "Th bricle, who entered the churcfy on her father’s arm, looked! charming’ in a dainty white satin frock, which was out cu slimming lines, the long tight-fitting sleeves being finished with pointed cuffs, and the neck of thy frock wa:< cut. square, and satin buttons down the back to the waistline finished a beautiful lroc-k. The lovely white 'lace veil was field in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, the veil forming a train, ancl she carried a. beautiful shower bouquet of white carnations, asters and asparagus fern. - The bridesmaid. Bliss Ruby Spanhake, sister of the bricle, and t-lie flower girl. Muriel Spanhake, also sister

of the bride, wore dlainty frocks) of pink lace over pink satin. Their head-dresses were pinlc crinoline halos. and they carried shower bouquets

of pink sweet peas and asters and fern. Th© bridegroom was attended Bir. R. Woolfield. as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held in the- Waimana Hall, where aliont 130 guests wore received by Bir. and Blrs. Spanhake. Blrs. Spanhake wore a smart frock of navy Jersey clcsth. relieved with beige, with hat and: gloves to match, and she carried a bouquet of scarlet salvia and asparagus fern. Mrs. J. Hughes, mother of the bridegroom, was wearing a smart navy frock, with a matching hat and aeessories, and carried a bouquet of red carnations and asparagus fern. The reception went off cheerily with toasts and speeches, and numerous telegrams were read by the best man, and the heartiest of congratulations were bestowed upon the popular bride and bridegroom. 'Che tables were festivel, spaced along with vases of pink and) white sweet, peas and asters, and the feature of the bridal table was the handsome, three-tiered bridal cake, which was made by Blrs. N. Clark, ancl beautifully iced in white. Later, the bridal couple left by car for a tour of the North Island, the bride travelling in a .smart pin-striped navy blue costume, with- hat and accessories to match. Among the guests were : Rev.
