CLOSING OF SEASON . MEETING* ON SATURDAY The Opotiki Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club closed the season on Saturday, when a lengthy /programme,, including a number of championship events was run off. The meeting was a. very successful one and during the afternoon the president, Air. C. Tabb, thanked patrons for their support during the season. The tracks were in good; order and this enabled B. Vercoe, the local champion cyclist, to again lower the track record from 35 seconds to 34 2-5 secs. Fast times were also put up in the junior and senior 880 yards events, the senior time being the best -put up cn the local reserve. The winners of these events were: junior, Beattie- senior, Ted.
