Squad-ron-Leader White has retired from flying, having completed his last flight from Napier to Gisborne on Friday. * * » Mr. A. G. Hultquist, ARP., who has been paying a visit to the East Coast portion of the Bay of Plenty electorate, returned to Gisborne on Friday evening. He was to have been a member of the party which made a survey flight from Gisborne to Auckland on. Saturday. Advice of the indisposition of Airs. Hultquist, however, was receivedl on liis arrival at Gisborne, and he returned tc Whakatane by road on Saturday. ***** * * Airs* J. T. Tabb left by plane for Gisborne to-day. ST. PATRICK’S DAY DANCE VERY LARGE ATTENDANCE The usual St. Patricia’s Day dance, was held in the Lyric Hall on Friday night, and attracted a very large attendance. An active committee had arranged the interior cf the hall in an artistic manner with greenery, and .streamers, intermingled with fairly lights. Air. Tim Hickey capably filled the position of AI.C. The music was in the capable hands cf Roy Parkes and liis- Rhythm Boys, and an extra was supplied by Aliss D. Young. Great aprpeciation was shown of the. items rendered by the pupils of the Convent School,. Airs. Quirk acting as accompanist. Novelty dances were won by Aliss F. Johnson and Air. Aioore and Aliss B. Harrison and partner. A very dainty supper was served and dancing was continued until a late hour. Among those present were: Airs. Li. Abbot, Airs. Hawkins, Airs. S. Shalfoon, Airs. L. Herne, Alts.
