SUNDAY’S INCIDENT

In the first race on Sunday an incident of particular interest to yachtsmen occurred. This was when' the

Lelaue capsized. The skippers of Popeye and flying Cloud saw the capsize and took the signal from heiane to mean “Carry on. we are all right ’. This was unfortunate as these skippers have come in for adverse criticism through no fault of theirs. Ihe race was cancelled' through a ruling which say's: “AA here a. boat- during a

race capsizes and another boat iu that C; race renders assistance the race is automatically called off and resailed on a later date.”

• Owing to unfavourable tides there wi!L be no races on Sunday. r J he next series will be held on Marjh *2O.
