FIRST ROUND TO FLYING CLOUD
T,hc first round of the competition for the cup and two miniatures, presented l)vuMi\||Dha.s. Wright, was won by “Flying. Cloud”, skippered by Mr. F. Talbot. attempt was made to sail the race in the morning, but- the squally conditions were responsible for “Lelaue” capsizing Messrs. Carruthers and Forte stood by until the crew was piokedi up and the race was declared “off”. In each round cf the competition the crews, will sail a different boat and the cups will be awarded to the crew that secures the most points. The race yesterday afternoon resulted:— Flying Cloud (F. Talbot) 1 Lelane (S. N. Chat-field) 2 Wee Pat (N. T. Hill) 3 Pop-eye- (C. Brownie) : 4 Ji’Hirondelle (A. AY. McGregor) ... 5 Viking (AY. Gederman) 6
