FORTNIGHTLY PIC SALE Alessrs. Dalgetv and Co. Ltd. report as follows on the usual fortnightly pig sale held at the Opotiki saleyarcls on Monday, the 6th. instant: — A big yarding of pigs of all classes came forward and sold under moderate competition at ysdmething rather less than late ratdl* Porkers were yarded in more tliau average numbers but the price lias declined considerably owing to a- drop in the schedule price. Baconers made up to £3 9s; others, £3 2s to £3 6s; medium, £2 18s to £3 l.s ; lighter, £2 14s to £2 18s; porkers, good heavy porkers to £2 10s; others, £j| to £2 8s; ligfiter, £1 15s to £1 18s - kfrge stores, to £1 15s 6dothers, 27s tc 325; slips were not in demand at all, fnfiny, good lines being sold for as little as 15s; whilst .weaners were very bard J to quit, an exceptionally good pen. making only os. The-New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Go. Ltd. report as follows: We had a full yarding of pigs in all classes, and the usual export buyers were present. Prime baconers arid heavy porkers sold at late rates but u eaners, slips and light stores met with very poor competition. Prices realised wore: Heavy prime baconers, £3 os to £3 9s; heavy baconers, £2 16s to £3; prime porkers, £2 os to £2 12s ; light porkers, 38s to £2 3s, good store pigs, 22s to 30s; slips, 8s to £1; weaners, 3s to 6s; choppers, good demand, to £4.
