BOWLING CLUB CARDEN PARTY

Pi (TIT R ESQ rV. V r NCT.I ON A very successful and enjoyable garden party organised by the members if the Opotiki Bowling Club, was held at the club's green on Saturday afternoon. There was a good attendance of howlers, their wives and friends and a very happy afternoon was spent in the delightlul surroundings. A picturesf|Ue background lor the well-kept lawns was provided by the -colourful flowers. Great credit is dlue to the members and ladies, all cl whom worked so diligently to ensure the success of the function. Besides the usual games of howls, various competitions were played and enterect into enthusiastically. The function was officially opened by . the Mayor, Mr. G. S. MV oily. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the ladies. CA’s a result of the effort, the club’s funds should benefit considerably. The results of the various competitions were as follows: — Turkey.
