NO ABORIGINAL PROBLEM
POSITION IN N.S.W. .ONLY 890 FULL BLOODS SYDNEY, Dec. 2.—The Chief Secretary, Mr. Volian, said yesterday that there was no real aboriginal problems in New South Wales, because there were only S9O full-blooded blacks in the State. “L could not entertain the idea that there should be any racial admixture of blacks and our white population,’’ lie added.
“I do favour, however, the creation of opportunities by which quartereasts and half-castes can be assimilated into the pastoral life of the community.
“Many of these people are adaptable. and instead of being segregated and made to feel pariahs, they should be placed in settlements whore they can find work, and where, perhaps, they can imperceptibly be merged intothe social life of the whole community.”
