SEARCH NEAR MOB ERE CHARRED LETTER FOUND The disappearance of the four mail bags between Wairoa and Gisborne on Saturday night still remains a mystery. An intensive search of the locality in the vicinity of Morere Hill has been made, and investigations have been carried out by Detective AY. Mason. Napier, and Detective C. P. Belton.* Gisborne, and in ,the search in the vicinity of 3 lore re Sergeant Clark, Wairoa. and Constable Houston. Gisborne, were associated with the detectives. When searching on the Gisborne side of 31oiore Hill* the remains of a recent open fire were* found, and it s understood that in it were found rings that might have been from a mail hag and a quantity of charred paper, including a charred letter which vas thought to be from a missing hag. infective 3lason has now returned to Napier.
