OPOTIKI v. WHAKATANE fit CRICKET AN D TKN NIS Cricket and tennis matches between. Opotiki and W.hakata<no High Schools were played: in Opotiki on -Monday. In the tennis Whakatane proved tin* winners by two sets of doubles to Opotiki’s one set-. The Whakatane girls heat the Opotiki girls in a one innings cricket match, Whakatane sec uring 104 runs while Opotiki made only 29 runs.

In a one innings match the Opotiki hoys heat the Whakatane hoys by 2 wickets and 51 runs. The main scorer for Opotiki was Hedley who made '34 runs, while Brown 29. Klimrangi 15 and On Hen 12 also reached double figures. The principle* scorer for Whakatane was Iveepa with 29 who was the only one to- reach double figures. The scores were : Whakatane H.S.
