MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the .Bay of .Plenty .Electric Power Board was held at the office of the board at Opotiki yesterday. Present: Messrs. E. Burt (chairman), J. W. Stunner, D. u. Spence, J. A. Mitchell (Wlmkatane), \V. A. Gault, S. M’nxwell, W. T. Burrett (Opotiki), Mr. J. D. Dicker (engineer-manager), Air. G. A. Hathaway (secretary). Al afters in connection with the Board were dealt with in committee. Engineer's Report. The engineer-manager, Mr. J. I). Dicker, reported as follows for the month of November:— I have pleasure in submitting the following report for the above mouth. Line Erection: 58.-It route chains of 11,000 volt lines. 100 route chains of 400 volt on 11,000 volt’ iines. 18.2!) unite chains of 400 volt lines. 2 transformer structures erected complete with 2 10 k.v.a. transformers.

Also dismantled 01.98 route chains of 400 volt lines and one 10 k.v.a.a and <me 5 k.v.a. transformer. The 11,000 volt emergency supply line to Whakatane Borough totalling 08.5 route chains has liven remmved. The erection of the Waingarara lira noli is underway. Manawalie: A further 5 service lines have been erected in the Alauawalie district amounting to 19.95 chains of line, and the total installations connected to 50th. November are 5 shed's and 25 houses.

Consumers’ Service. Lines (including Manawalie): 98 new service lines completed totalling 185.91 route chains of line, and 2 dismantled totalling 20.87 route chains of line. Line Maintenance: Several faults located and repaired on the Board’s telephone system. 'Trees cut on branch lines ti, Alessrs. Martin and Cox. 5

defective 11,000 volt insulators replaced. 'The 1.1,000 volt oil. switch on the supply, to the Rangitaiki Plains Daily Co. replaced with one arranged to cope' with increased load. Due to the failure of 2 11,000 volt insulators supply was interrupted on the Coast feeder for 'SO minutes on the 2nd. November and 12 minutes on the 90th. November. 2 consumers’ service lines overhauled and repaired.

Milking plants 7,2, 2, 045. 020. Separator motors 5, !. 0, 557, 510. 'ToLa I consumers 52, 9,5, 1925, 1781. Total connected load k. w. 8008 k.w., 8080 k.w.

P.W.D. Supply: There were no Mintdowns during the month. General: I have pleasure in reporting having secured the services of two extra wiromen ; hut due to the acute housing shortage in both Opotiki and AVlmkatnne, the wiring staff is -till understaffed.

In company with the chairman an inspection was made of a portion .of the system, particularly a mini her of the large pumping installations installed bv the hoard.
