OBITUARY
MR. JOHN WALKER The death occurred yesterday afternoon at the, Opotiki Hospital of Mr. John Walker, hotel proprietor and storekeeper, of Te Kalia, after a brief illness. Mr. Walker, who was aged 51 years, was born on the. coast. He took over the Te Kalia hotel and store from liis father, and was known widely throughout the Bay of Plenty and Poverty Bay for his generous hospitality. Deceased, who did not marry, was a Returned Soldier, and served during the Great War in the Gallipoli campaign and, in France. The funeral will take place at Te Kalia to-morrow afternoon.
