WEDDING

STOTT—WARRINGTON A picturesque * Wedding was celebrated at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church at 6.30 p.m. on December Ist. when Nalda Annie, second daughter of ALr. and Mrs. R. Warrington, of Opotiki, was united in flic holy bonds of matrimony to Arthur Russell, eldest son of Air. and ■ Airs. ’J'. 11. Stott of Toatoa. The llev. U. G. 0. Salt officiated and Aliss Lovett presided at the organ. The church was artistically decorated by girl friends of the bride. Entering the church on the arm of her, father who gave her away, tile bride presented a very pretty picture in' her frock of ivory hue over satin. The veil of ivory embroidered tulle fell in billowy, folds over the graceful train of the frock. The veil was arranged from a coronet of orange blossoms and the charming bouquet was a sheaf of Christmas lilies.

In attendance as bridesmaids were Aliss Nitii Ellen Thomson, of Waihi, and Miss Natalie Jean Baty, of Uisborue, who were similarly lroeked in becoming gowns of powder blue crinkle georgette with a small silver stripe running through the. material. They were silver shoes and blue gloves. With their charming silver halos they wore blue tulle’* shoulder length veils and carried banquets of pink sweetpeas. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a. double string of pearls, and to the bridesmaids, necklaces of crystal. The best man was the bridegroom's brother. Ait. Trevor Stott, and Air. Russell Henderson was groomsman. .Messrs. Bruce King and Ray Davidson were efficient ushers. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Wattle Tea-rooms when upwards of ninety guests were entertained. Air. Al. Level I acted as Alnstcr of ceremonies and the usual toasts were honoured with more than usual gusto.

The bride’s mother received her guests wearing a smart frock of navv blue chenille block velvet with hat and shoes to tone. She carried a posy of pink carnations. The bridegroom's mother wore a charming frock of saxe blue sheer, with hat and shoes to’tone. Mrs. B. King, the bride’s sister, was 'trucked in floral silk with a navy blue coatee, white hat, shoes and gloves. Later the happy couple left by private car lor a tour of the Nortn Island. They, will later take a plane for the South Island. Airs. Stott chose a smart grey suit with navy blue pin stripe and navy blue accessories as her travelling outfit. Air. and Airs. Stott, whose future home will he in Opotiki, were the recipients of many beautilul and valuable gilts.
