L. .Looney’s residence on Wednesday. Mrs. Jerrain, president of the Wniimina Carden Circle, spoke of the ol>,|t cts of ti garden- circle and congratulated the Waiotalii Institute on the formation of a circle, Airs. W. L. .Looney having been elected president. A roll call, “My favourite rose and its .are,” was well responded to ami piovidod some useful hints on rose culture. Afternoon tea was served and members enjoyed strolling around the beautiful garden. Mrs. WooKield and Mrs. Mitchell also spoke of the pleasures of the garden circle and tt vote of thanks to Airs. Looney was passed for the afternoon’s entertainment.
