OPOTIKI PIC SALE VARIABLE PRICES Messrs. Dalgetv and Co. Ltd. report having held their usual fortnightly pig sale at the Opotiki saleyards on AJouday, when a good average yarding came forward, comprising all classes of pigs.

The demand for haconers was as keen as usual but buyers; were updating on a lower schedule with a result that the prices declined a little. Porkers remained firm at late rates whilst store pigs, more especially slips and weaners, met with a very keen demand and prices obtained for stores were quite satisfactory. We quote the following prices : Bacouers, top weights, to £3 11s*; medium, £3 3s to £3 9s; lighter. £2 17s to £3 2s; porkers, heavy and in very good condition, to £2 9s; others, £2 to £2 6s; large stores, £1 12s to £T 19s; slips, £1 4s to £1 8s; weaners, good sorts, to. £1 3s ; others, 18s to 1 2s ; inferior, 12s to 14s; a sow with a litter of 6 making £2. The New Zealand Loan and Aloreantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as fellows : We had a very large entry of pigs in all classes, which sold well throughout. Good stores, weaners and slips showed an advance on late rates. Baconers were cheaper, our top price being £3 11s for four haconers on account of Mr. Oscar Reeve.

Prices realised were:— Prime heavy haconers, £3 6s to £3 11s; medium heavy haconers. £.'s to £3 ss; light haconers, £'2 15s to £3; heavy porkers, £2 5s to £2 11s ; medium sorts. 35s to £2; good store pigs, 37s 6d to £2 Is; lighter sorts. 30s to 365; good quality slips, to 325; smaller sorts, 22s to ; good weaners. ISs 9d to 20s 6d; smaller sorts, lO.s 6d to 16s; choppers, to 27s 6d.
