WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

TE KAHA MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Te Ivaha Women’s institute was held in the Maungaroa meeting-house on Saturday afternoon. New members were welcomed by the president, -Mrs. 1. Pratt. A demonstration ol coiled raffia work, using pine-needles, was given by Mrs. C- Tiopira. Various members were thanked lor special work done to help the institute- 'The annual bazaar was fixed for December in order that articles made by members could be sold in time to make Christmas gifts. The roll call was “Jlecitatiou”, in which much variety was shown. Future activities of the institute wore discussed, including dramatic work. The competition, a bazaar novelty, was won by -Mrs. Pratt. Afternoon tea was provided by -Miss Skinner and members parted with a feeling of satisfaction lor a well-filled afternoon.
