WEEDING
CLARK—AUSTIN - A •protty wedding was celebrated at St- Molin’s Clin roll, Te Kara lea, on Tuesday morning lust, when Jessie Ruth, youngest-daughter of Air. and .Mrs. 1-. ile Kruno Austin, Otoko, was married to Ronald Ernest Leo, youngest son ol Mrs. Clark and tlie late Mr. Percy Clark, Opotiki.
Pale pink’roses and howls of arum lilies formed an effective decoration in the church, where the marriage service was conducted by the Ryv. J. I>. Hodgson, and Miss L. Kuril provided appropriate music. The bride, who was given away by her father looked very attractive in a smartly cut frock of periwinkle blue silk. The bodice, which was trimmed with faggoting in front, had a Vsluiped neck lint* and long sleeves gathered at the shoulder and fastened into a narrow cuff at the wrist. The -skirt was pleated from the waist and fell to below the knees and with it were worn sun-tan hose and navy shoes to tone. A sorsngo spray in navy matched the bride’s wide-brimmed chip straw hat and she carried a beautiful bouquet of roses and lily of the valley.
A very pretty frock ol floral georgette patterned in blue and pink was worn by tlie bridesmaid. Miss Alary Tombleson, Otoko. Fashioned with puffed sleeves, it had a short full skirt, the bodice being finished with small blue buttons and a blue sash at the waist. A shady hat of honey-col-oured straw, garlanded with tiny pink and blue flowers, completed her toilette and she carried a bouquet in pink and blue shades.
Also in attendance on tin* bride was a little flower girl. Elizabeth Hodgson, ivlio made a pretty picture in a short gathered frock of floral georgette in pink and blue, with blue velvet sash. Her tiny lace edged cap was tied under the chin with blue* velvet ribbons and her Victorian posy was in pink and blue shades. The duties of best man were ably carried out by Air. Denis Caves, Opotiki.
After the ceremony at the church an enjoyable reception was held at “The Bliieguius,” Te Karaka. the home of the. bride s aunt. Alts. 1-. 1. Fletcher, only immediate relatives ol: the bride and bridegroom being present.
Mrs. |<\ de Bruno Austin, mother of the bride, wore a short navy coat over a navy silk frock with touches ol red oil the. bodice. Her navy straw hat had a self-coloured bow in front and she held a bmicjuet of mock orange blossom, verbena and gaillardia. Mrs. E. T. Fletcher, aunt of Hie bride, eliosu a navy dress with small white spots. lb was trimmed with narrow white frilling and worn with a bolero and a navy hat. All's. Clark, mother ol the bridegroom. wore a model of brown floral silk with a brown coat- and hat. Her pretty bouquet was ol banksia roses mingled with autumn tinted loliage. A graceful frock of printed georgette in cherry and brown tunings with a wide brimmed straw bat was
worn by Aliss Dorothy Austin, sister of the bride. The drawing-room was artistically arranged with bowls ol roses and vases of iris- and Argentine pea. The ciist.oimarv toasts were honoured when refreshments were served Jrom a table decorated with howls of beautiful pink roses. r \ lie bridal couple left later in the day for lfotorua. the bride travelling in a platinum grey coat over a blue frock with a navy hat and shoes and a navy handbag. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Clark will make their future home in Gisborne.
