MONTHLY STOCK SALE 'The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows on the .monthly stock sale held in the Opotiki saleyards yesterday:— We had a very full’yarding of cattle and a small entry of sheep. Cattle: heavy cows, late culvers, £4 10s to £6 12s 6d ; dairy heifers, small and late culvers £3 10s; dairy Lulls, large cutrj- Jerseys, 3-year-old, to £8 ss; 2-year to £5 15s; yearlings, £3 to £4 ss. Fafj cows, heavy and good quality, £7 to £7 12s 6cl; killable cows, £5 10s to £G 2s 6d; good condition cows, £4 t 0 £5 ss; store cows, £3 to, £3 7s 6d; boner cows, 25s to £2 9s ; good condition boner bulls, to* £6; Jersey yearling heifers, £'3 15s to £4 10s; 2-vear empty heifers. £3 9s to £3 15s; 4-year gelding. 'broken to chains, 355. Messrs. Dnlgety and Co. Ltd. report that- a capacity yarding of all classes; of cattle came forward, a good bench of buyers operating and prices on the whole-, "remained firm at late rates. A gcod number of horses were yarded but'-vendors generally were too high in their prices ami no sales were made. Several pens of sheep were ol-fere-d and received an unexpectedly good sale. Aged owes with lambs made B7s 7d ail counted. Fat ewes, shorn, sold at the very satisfactory price of 15s 6r\ and a truck load of dairy cows from Otoko made to £7 ss; grade Jersey bulls to £lO 10s for a likely Sort' ef two-vear-old. We quote the following prices for fat and store cattle:— Fat cows to £7 12s 6d ; lighter, £G 5s to £7 10s; ethers, £4 to £6 ss; store cows, £2 18s t 0 £3 15s ; honors, £1 to £2 ss; yearling Jersey heifers, £5 for a line of 20 and £4 10s lor a line of '3l.
