MONTHLY MEETING /. The monthly meeting ol ! the W.D.FU. was hold in the l’urish Hull recontiy when M'rs. A. JtJ. Martin presitled over a good attendance. The meeting opened with the reading oi the Women's Creed after which the minutes of the prfevious- meeting were read and continued. The members then stood in silence as a mark of respect to their late member Mrs. Beg. Walker. -Mrs. Martin read the Dominion president’s message from the “Progress lteport”. One new memboi was welcomed. The recent dance, organised by thcjhvision, was discussed and pleasure was expressed at its success, in view of which it was decided to make the function an annual event. it was unanimously decided to make a donation to the M.Z- Blind Institute and it was proposed to hold a, social or a stall at a later date and donate the proceeds to the Blind Institute. The 801 l Cali was a very amusing one, “Laugh Without iSmiling”. The efforts of some of the members brought forth considerable amusement. A competition oi jumbled names arranged! by Mrs. Hughes, was won by -Mrs. McCullough while -Miss M. Beckett was the winner of a musical parcel competition. The ilower competition for a specimen bloom resulted in Mrs. O. Hill gaining lirst prize with Mrs. .Martin second and Mrs. Burgess third. The sales table met with its usual success and a dainty alternoion tea was served by the liostesses, AllM. Boekott and IC. Lambert, to whom a vote of thanks was passed. A vote of thanks was also passed to the chair and a successful meeting closed with the singing.ol the National Anthem-
