MEETING AT WOODLANDS A meeting of the W oodlanus en’s Institute was held yesterday aitcrnoou. -Mrs. Noble presiding. -Mrs. V'. Wilst.il. -Mrs. .Macßac and .Mrs. Armstrong were visitors to tne lusti--tute as well as some fiiteen members ol tiie Otara institute. The meeting opened with the National Anthem followed by the Institute Song and Aspirations. Business was dealt with and final arrangements were made tor the Hewer show. The Roll Call was “Old Coins and their History’ 7 and many quaint and interesting old eoins were displayed. Ihe meeting then settled down to hear -Mrs. .Mae. Rae give' a most delightful and interesting .talk on her trip home to the Coronation. this fluent speaker giving a vivid description ol Colombo anti o-tlici places en route and making her listeners teel as though they were actually seeing all the places she described. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Airs Macßae hv all present. Competition results were: Three heads of Geranium: -Mrs. .McCullough and Airs. Pilkington (equal) 1. Cheese Straws: Airs. Sargent 1. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, bringing a happy alternoon to a close.
