It was pointed out, however, that some individual losses laid teen heavy, and mortality was still continuing. A discussion took place on the matter as a result of it communication from Dominion headquarters asking lor a review of losses Irom the disease in the district. Mr H. R- Dull pointed out that the full effects of the losses would not lx* apparent for souk 1 time, because mortiilitv was still continuing. Mr W. T. Yeiteh said that one man with 500 owes docked only JSD lambs. The secretary, Air C. Blackburn, said that lie met one mail who did not think lie would have IP per cent, ol lambs, and owes were still dying. Mr Yeiteh said that all along the road ho could see sheep shedding their wool. The president, Mr J. E. Benson, said In* had seen skins with wool o'dv l.Jim long, and the wool could be easily plucked from the skins. Other members stated that some farmers - had no losses, while many had lost, only a lew sheep. Mr J. K. Brosua-han considered that the losses from the facial eczema had been exaggeratedThe president said that the position was certainly not as serious in the Gisborne district as had been reported . Air -Yeiteh : It was not as bad as the last outbreak three years ago. It was decided to reply to Dominion headquarters that the effects of the disease in the Gisborne district had been exaggerated.
