WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
WOODLANDS MONTHLY MEETING A meeting of the Woodlands’ Women’s Institute .was held cil Tuesday, •.All's Noble presiding over a good attendance. A welcome was extoiided to a new member. The nieeting opened with the National Anthem and the Institute Song, after which the minutes and correspondence were dealt with and roinits discussed. Airs AlcCaldon and Airs Pilkingtcn* were e-lect-ed as delegates to the bi-annual conference at Waimana. It- was decided to hold the annual flower show on October 27th. Airs Noble gave a most comprehensive and interesting ■account of her trip to Wellington as delegate to the Dominion Conference. The Roll Call “If I Were a Alan” was humorously answered. Airs Alulhern contributed axgolden thread on outstanding personalities, elieosing Jean Batten as her subject. All's Dodgsou ably demonstrated the making of jugcovers and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The competition results were; Specimen daffodil. Airs Pilkiugten. Worked tea-towel, Airs "Hollard 1. Drain fag competition, Airs Mu! hern l . Hostesses for the afternoon wore Airs Alulhern and Airs Barbour.
