OBITUARY
MR. JACK HANNA The death occurred suddenly on Monday morning o! Mr John Elliot Hanna alter his removal to the Cook Hospital from his home in dcLautour road. Gisborne. He was 41 years of age. and for the past 17 years had been continuously employed first by Messrs I). J. Barry. Limited, and subsequently by New Zealand .Brewerics, Limited, which took over a portion oi the interests of the former firm.
Mr Hanna served with the Ist Battalion, .Canterbury Infantry, during the Great War, and established a fine record with that unit. Returning to New Zealand at the close of the war, lie settled again in Gisborne, where bis parents were living, and in enjoyment of good health lie took part in the building up of the Association code of football in the district, wining club and representative honours dining several seasons between 1920 and 1930.
About sixteen years ago lie mat lied Miss Alison Jibe, daughter of Air. -M . Roe. of AYaiaua. Opotiki. lie is survived by -Airs Hanna and three children . Noel Elliot Hanna*, and Misses v\vr:l Alison and Cynthia Dawn Hanna. Two brothers. Messrs Samuel and Robert Hanna, and throe sisters, Mesxlames G. Hurley. AY. Hanna, and AT. Tvebber. all reside in Gisborne. The funeral took place at the J anthem cemetery, the Gisborne brewery closing ■fortho afternoon.
