Mrs T. Abbot senr., is at present in Opotiki. Sine lias come for the Presbyterian Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. -Mrs Abbot is one of two surviving members who attended the, first Communion service held by the Rev. John Gow in Opotiki. The other member is Airs J. P. Murray who now resides in Papatoetoe.

George Bucld, of Auckland. Director of Missions for Yew Zealand, will arrive in Opotiki to-morrow to attend the Jubilee Celebrations of. St. John’s Presbyterian Cluirch. During his visit he will be the guest of Air and Allrs J. B. Gow, “Carmyllie”. Miss Rudd, of Auckland, who will also arrive in Opotiki to-morrow, will be Cue guest of Air and Airs C*. H- Fleming, Ford Street.

DANCE AT TOATOA Following the recent address by AH' A. G. Hultquist. Government candidate lor the Bay of Plenty, a .lance was held in the Toatoa. hall to entertain Mr and Mrs Hultquist. The music was supplied by Mr J. Alannix. The Monte Oar los were won by Mrs Hex Jones and Mr F. Kearns and Mrs Hultquist and ADr N. Clayton. The duties of M.C. wore carried out by Messrs T. Stott and F. Kearns. ' A very dainty supper was served and an enjoyable dance came to an end too soon. Among those present were:— Mrs A- G. Hultquist. Mrs A. J. Hutsler, Mrs T. R. Hustler, Airs H.
