OPOTIKI AND GISBORNE TEAMS GAMES IN BOTH TOWNS On 'Saturday afternoon members of; tlie Marathon team, Gisborne,' met two Opotiki teams, in friendly 'matches played at the Opotiki School. The Gisborne team wa,s successful in both matches. The scores were— Marathon 8, Old Gills 4. , Marathon 10, Old Gii’ls 8, Miss E. Dehreceny was the. referee. Members of the Convent Old Girls’ team journeyed to Gisborne where they played a friendly match with members of St- Mary’s Convent Old Girls’ team. * A fast ~ and exciting match ended in a. draw, and live minutes extra play followed, resulting in favour'of the Gisborne team, the final score being 9' —8.
