W.D.F.U.

MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting oft he W'.D.F U. was held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon, Mrs Martin presiding. The reading of the Creed was followed by the reading of the- minutes and the usual business. One new member was enrolled. A particularly interesting demonstration was given by a visitor, Miss Nancy Bostock who gave interesting hints on the making of floral emblems. The demonstration was greatly enjoyed by the members and a hearty vote of thanks was given Miss Bostock. A competition arranged by Mrs MCCullough was won by Mrs S. Maxwell. Tiie competition for the best flower was won by Mrs Martin, Airs Hollard being placed second and Airs Afaxwell third. Airs T- AlcDonnell was successful in gaining first place for tlie collection of six flowers from bulbs, Alls Martin was second and AJirs Lowe was third. A competition for a butterless sponge was won by Airs McCullough who later gave the sponge, as a prize for a guessing competition and was the winner of the competition.

During afternoon tea served by iho hostesses, Airs K. Newtli and Airs Fox, arrangements for the birthday function to be held on Tuesday night were discussed.
