ONIONS INSTEAD OF GUNS
LORD BALDWIN’S ADVICE LONDON, Aug. 2.—Lord Baldwin, in a speech to members of the Astlcy Horticultural Society, said: “One Avonders whether there Avill ever be sufficient sanity in this Ayorld between the nations and when they Avill cease to make large guns and, instead, Avill compete against each other in. growing the biggest onions. “It would be Aviser, and the Avorid Avould serve a more useful purpose.” Lord Bakhvin said that he Avo.uld give speeches a rest for three months. “I am going through my accumulated papers for the past 18 years,” lie said. “Those papers are reposing in a tin box in London. If there is anything in them Avhich will hang anybody, I will destroy them.”
