BASKETBALL
COMPETITIONS CONCLUDED •. JUNIOR. CUP TO CONVENT The basketball competition was. concluded on Saturday last, results being as follows : High School A. 23. 1 lvia Toa A. 19. Convent A. 18. Old Girls A. 11. Te Huia 9. High School B. 7Kia. Tea B. 4. < Old Girls B. 0. In the Junior Competition, the Convent team won the cup.
On Thursday the Opotiki representatives will travel to llotorua where they will participate in the annual spring carnival tournament. The team is as follows:
K. Mfulhern C. Armstrong, 3li. Rangi, C. Tawhia, J. Du Pontet, E. Hampton, T. Poihipi, B. Edwards, OSlialfoon, N. Hickey, P. Nathan. Miss Thompson will travel with the team as manager.
The Marathon basketball team from Gisborne will he the guests of the Old Girls’ team on Saturday, September 10th., and an exciting match is anticipated on this occasion. In the evening the team will be entertained at a dance in the Woodlands Hall.
