WAIOTAHI BIRTHDAY SOCIAL The ninth birthday of the AVaiotahi AYomen’s Institute was celebrated on August 24th- with a social evening in the AA T aiotahi, Kail. Airs C- AYliite, president of the Institute, welcomed a number of visitors from sister Institutes, and a pleasant evening was spent in dancing, interspersed'with items. Songs were rendered by Afesdames C. AVliito and Burke, Aliss AI. Du Pontet and Air Alalcolm Burke, and folk dancing by the children of the AA'aiotalii School. Little Rita AYyllie gave a charming recitation and was heartily encored. A one-act play entitled “Cats and Kittens,” was presented by Ales da mes Scott, Lcishman, Forbes and Smith. The candles on the cake were lighted by the president and the hrst cut made by Airs AYoolfield, to whom a posy of blue and white violets was presented by Alary Ran. Dance music was provided by Airs King with extras by Air AI. Burke. After supper had been served members of sister Institutes thanked the \Vaiotahi Institute for the very pleasant evening. Air llau thanked the ladies on behalf of the husbands. saying it was a pleasure to see their wives away from home surroundings.
