HUNTING

A SPLENDID MEET PACK SECURES TAVO KILLS, Wednesday’s meet of the Opotiki Hunt Club proved to be the most successful meet of the season. .Keen followers who realised that- the end of the hunting season was in view, were anxious to have a good day’s sport, and not one was disappointed with the excellent hunt which was enjoyed. The weather was ideal; there were several visitors and the always popular Tablelands country was the chosen hunting field. In the early part of the day a hare was scented and after several very spirited runs, in which there was intense excitement, there were two kills. The pack was keen and although the runs were extremely fast, all the followers were “in at the kill”. There were many spectators, who enjoyed an excellent display of jumping, exhibition jumps being given for their benefit at the homestead. A very, enjoyable afternoon tea was served at Air F. AV. Reid’s residence, the delightful surroundings being greatly admired by all present. The Afaster, Air C. T.
