Messrs Dalgety and Co. report having held their usual fortnightly jug sale at the Opotiki saleyanls on the •22nd. inst. when pigs ol all classes came forward in good average 1 numbers, including a special consignment of good quality store pigs from Gisborne. The usual buyers of baconers were in the market and were able to obtain quite a number of fat pigs at prices slightly in advance ol late rates. The competition oil store pigs was very keen as many local farmers were in the market owing to the great- number of cows having, come to profit. We quote the. following prices which were obtained at the sal*’: —

Prime heavv baconers on account ol Messrs Pile Bros., to Cl; lighter prime baconers, C.’f Ids to Cl; others, CJ to C.‘s })s ; porkers, heavy and very prime. ,C2 As to £2 12s; buttermilk pigs, Cl 14s to C2 4s; slips. Cl < s to .£1 Ills; weaners. ISs to Cl (is (id; inferior, 12s Gd to Ins.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report- as billows :

We bad a full yarding of good quality pigs in all classes with the exception ol porkers, which met with spirited competition, and in most cases exceeded vendors’ reserves. Good weaner pigs and slips sold extremely well. Brices realised were :
