FRED CLARK MEMORIAL CUP
BILLIARDS TRUTH Y DONATED 70 RAILWAY CAMPS The Kopuawharu correspondent of the JVB. Herald states that a pleasant surprise came to billiard and snooker players of the Kopuawharu area recently, when a handsome cup arrived as a challenge trophy to be competed for by players in the camps on the Waikokopu-Gisborne section of the railway at present under eon-, struct ion.
The cup, which is to he called the Fred: Clark .Memorial Cup, was donated by the Clark family of Opotiki as a memorial to their son and brother, who was ono of the victims of the February flood disaster at No. 4 Camp. While he was a resident of the valley the late Mr Fred Clark was the local billiards champion, so the cup was a fitting memorial to him as well as being much appreciated by players of the game.
