SATURDAY’S ' TOURNAMENT SPECTACULAR GAMES - 4 . ‘ The Opotiki District High School grounds were the scene of great activity; on Saturday last when visiting basketball teams from Whakatane, Taneatua and Waimana met teams of. . the Opctiki Basketball Association in friendly matches'. The games resulted in several spectacular matches, the results of which are given below. The representative match between Opotiki and Whakatane was one of' the most spectacular games yet seen in Opotiki. The passing of the visiting team was outstanding and Opotiki played a good defensive game. The goal divisions of both teams were brilliant. M'iss Babs Itighton, Captain of the visiting team gave a notable performance and for the home team, Miss.K. Mulhern, in defence, Miss Elaine Hampton, in the centre division, .played well. Afternoon tea was served by the members of the committee of the local association and the teams later left for their homes after a very successful tournament.
