Pig Marketing Association, and iie and Mr-Hoilard will attend the annual meeting of the Association to he held on Friday. Gordon’s residence yester- • day when members of the committee of the Hospital Sunshine League gathered to bid farewell to Airs Grant, a vice-president and valued member of the league. The drawing room was charmingly decorated with pink camellias and jiandina. A very interesting competition, arranged by Airs AY. J. Thompson, was won by Airs J. D. Clark. .During the afternoon Airs Gordon presented Mrs Grant with a beautiful shoulder spray, which had been made by Airs Debreceny. in extending the good wishes of all present, to Airs Grant, Airs Gordon spoke of Airs Grant’s valuable service to the League since its inception. She bad worked willingly and faithfully and inembeis heard with regret, news of her impending departure. i In replying. Airs Grant thanked Airs Gordon for her remark* and all present for their good wishes. £he had enjoyed any service she had rendered in her work .on the league and would miss her floppy associations with tli© members/ Slfe Felt that the best wish.extend to the league wAs that VAllrs Gordon would continue'in her duties as president. A very daiutyG afternnon tea was , enjoved before tlV© party dispensed. pre-marriace function CHILDREN OF AIARY ENTERTAIN As retiring president of the Children of Alary, of St. Alary’s Church, Alias Alary Shalloon, was their guest of honour at a gift afternoon recently held at the -Convent- School. The function was arranged in view of JVliss Slnilfoou’sa, pproaching marriage which has brought about her retirement aj president after many years laitlifiil service in this position. 'I he gatheiing included children of Alary and several friends and a very happy atternoon was spent. In the early afternoon a spectacular game of basketball was played, after which the party went indoors where games and competitions, interspersed with musical items, were enjoyed. A very dainty ( afernoon tea was .served, after which Aliss Nora Hickey. the newly-elected president, called upon the guest of honour to accept the numerous, -pretty and uselul gifts. Aliss Hickey extended the good wishes of all present for Aliss Shalloon’s future- happiness. Aliss Shalloon charmingly responded. I. . > annul good wishes were extended to the guest of honour and tin* remainder of the afternoon was spent in social chatter.
