SUPPORT BY UNIOX An appeal is to be made by theiljfc} Poverty Bay provincial executive of-v t V the Farmers’ Union through the Dominion executive to increase the rebate of 6d per gallon on motor spirit used on farms. Mr A. F- Gellert, Waioeka, wrote suggesting this and urging that attempts also should be made to reduce taxation on motor spirit because motor vehicles and farm ' ' chines were becoming such a necessary part of daily life. Members present stated that they had not applied for the rebate be-^/: ; ,. cause there was so much trouble attached to making the application and so many forms to fill in. It was decided to reply stating that the position was being carefully, watched by the union and to send & remit to the next meeting of the Dominion executive on the ' lines suggested by Air •o elicit.
