ANNUAL lIEPOKT The. annual report wa s presented as fellows:— Your committee wishes to report another successful year of activities. The competitions were run on lines similar to last- year and from the experience gained the competitions, were conducted very satisfactorily. II lie two competitions, A lor call rearing and B for rearing and type seem to have overcome the difficulty of judging when pedigree animals were entered.

This year a new competition was introduced for Stcl. 3 pupils who wore not required to keep hooks or charts. This proved a good move for the keeping of hooks and charts by the younger pupils seems to be a distinct- hardship. Children from four schools entered calves. It is hoped that more schools will enter the competition this season.

In all 20 calves were entered—a small increase on last year. Iho calves -entered this year showed a marked improvement on last year’s animals. This is very encouraging for it shows that these competitions are proving distinctly beneficial to the children and perhaps to some adults.

Owing to wet weather on 9t-h. December the judging was carried out on 13th. December.

Thanks are due to the members of the committee lor their interest and assistance, to all those gentlemen who made donations to the club funds; to Air 11. Looney and Mr 0. Yanstonc who greatly assisted with transport arrangements and to Messrs ILie and Kent, who *<> capably judged the calves.

A successful season is anticipated this year when it is hoped that more schools will join the movement and the standard reached will he e\on higher than tin's year. CO A I.
