WOODLAND’S MEETING

’The Woodlands Women's Institute met yesterday, Airs Noble presiding until the necessary business was disposed ot wiieti the chair was taken by All’s AlcC’ailion ot the Otara Women's Institute, members of this institute having arranged the programme; The 101 l call, “iiow 1 Re-act to Annoyance,” was rather humorous. Alesdames Black, Vanstone and Brown delighted with several part,, songs, Airs Mollard acting as accompanist. Two amusing competitions had been arranged and were won by All’s Dctlgson and All’s Alaxwell respectively. M*rs Black gave a particularly interesting reading on the life of Mozart. The "filial item, a. mime, “Riding Down to Bangor,” caused considerable merriment, those taking part being Ales'dames Black,-*. Brown, Palmer and AleCallion. The points prize winners were Airs Hoi lard first lor the competition for “Something new from something old”, and Airs Noble first for the jug of leaves arranged for effect. '

Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Airs AleAlillan anti All’s Briggs. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the members of the Otara Women's Institute for the delightful programme, and l the afternoon ended with the singing of the National Anthem.
