MONTHLY STOCK SALE Messrs Dalgetv and Co. Ltd. report having held their monthly stock sale at the Opotiki sa ley a ids yesterday: — A very heavy yarding came forward but a poor atendanoc of buyers were were not keen after cattle, probably on account of the shortage of feed. We yarded 550 sheep, comprising 220 f.m. ewes for which competition was very dull, the balance-being wether hoggets which sold under poor competition at rates slightly in advance of recent Gisborne prices. Dairy cattle were yarded in considerable numbers but the •cdfVring generally was poor although some very good heifers wore offered and were passed in at £6 We quote: Forward wether hoggets, to 15s 3d; smaller, 11s Id; black faced hoggets, small, 10s. Beef; prime iat cows, £5 7s (3d ; others. £'4 os to £5; lighter, £3 5s to £4; store cows. £2 15s to £3 ss; boners, £1 10s to £2 2s (id ; bulls, £5 4s.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows :
We had a very heavy yarding of cattle but offered n 0 sheep. Competition was not at all keen and we report a decline on late values. We offered a quantity of sundries on account of Mr F. AN. -Cough and report a good, sale. Prices realised were :
Heavy fat cows. £5 to £5 15s; medium fat cows, £4 10s to £5; tat Jersey cows. £3 5s to £4 2s 6d ; store cows £2 5s to £3 2s (3d; boners. £1 to ,£l 10s; '3-year store bullocks, to £t> 10s; 2-vear Jersey steers, to £4 ss; heavy hulls, boners. £4 4s to £4 10,s; grade service bulls, £2 os to £l. Dairy cattle: mostly very ordinary quality, best quality to £6 10s; 2year Jersey heifers £6 to £7; 3-yean Jersey heifers, to £7.
